Oil on canvas : 24 x 20 inch with edges painted as part of the scene. Strung and ready to hang.
Address Unknown the third in this series. In this scene the boy (me) in the boat floats above his lost world fishing out the bottles that all prove to contain no messages or hope. It seems that way initially but the sea is calm, its a sunny day and warm, the fish are coming up to greet him.
Maybe his world is not lost, perhaps he is lost in the world, he still searches the bottles for messages as we all did in childhood looking for answers to questions still not even formulated in our young minds "where am I going" ? "why is this and why is that" ?
I never got the answer to many of the questions but contented to leave the bottles bobbing past I smile and reply to my big eyed grandchild's queries with
" everyone's answers are different and usually incorrect or what you don't wish to hear, as you grow you will answer your own questions, feel free to alter the results of your inquisitive uncertainty for a calm sea and a sunny day "
